Episode #243: TV Families - Roseanne

August 27th, 2018
  • Ladybird (Laurie Metcalf)
  • 10 Cloverfield Lane (John Goodman)
  • Poison Ivy (Sara Gilbert)

A long overdue resurrection for this series, we ended up with a super relevant episode!  3 titles that you're not likely to find near each other on the shelf at the movie store.  Strangely, Poison Ivy was on a Leo DiCaprio shelf & Matt didn't even see him while watching it!  Video store mean nothing to you? - alright:  they won't be in the same genre batch (line?) or page on your streaming service...  This was a fun one & covers some interesting ground between the 3 movies.  Have at it!

BT Dubs - Clov Lane made a bit over 30 million outside the U.S., meaning it made nearly 7 times its budget.

Episode #242: Unsung Heroes I

August 13th, 2018

GUEST HOST:  GODFREY!!

  • Ghostbusters I & II (Ernie Hudson)
  • Train to Busan (the conductor)
  • Terminator Genisys (multiple actors)

A new idea that we hope to garner at least a few episodes from, we look at a particular character or group of characters (if necessary) to maybe shine a new light on some characters that may not be the leads but are still significant if not amazing within the flick.

There aren't many links as we skimmed the info for these movies, but we did mention Ghostbusters & T2.

NOTES:  Funny thing - the actor portraying the T-1000 was a fave of Matt's:  Byung Hun Lee!!  We couldn't get a copy of the movie in time, so we had to shoot from the hip for that one.  He certainly would have noticed given the chance to see it this week.

Episode #241: Numbers & Stuff

August 1st, 2018
  • 2 Days in the Valley
  • The Number 23
  • Lucky Number Slevin

A series we've wanted to do for years, this unifies varied movies by a linking factor of numbers.  Every one of these has significant spoilers that we avoided in talking about the plots themselves, but we dug deep into some of the concepts presented.  Enjoy!!

Links:  MonsterLeonRed (has other Bruce Willis & Morgan Freeman links),

Here is the "Who's On 1st" routine from Abbott & Costello (NOT Laurel & Hardy, Matt's never watched movies from EITHER duo!! )
