Episode #285: Documentary Time

April 21st, 2020
  • Dive, 2010 (Bonus - Just Eat It 2015)/
  • Craigslist Joe/
  • Forks Over Knives/

After putting it off for a long time, we finally talk about documentaries, and they're all old!  Yet still hauntingly relevant.  Did Tiger King incite this episode?  Darn Tootin' it did!  We spend a few minutes waxing about that as well.  Eat the episode up & careful with the salt shaker..

Episode #231: Down with the Sillyness

March 3rd, 2018
  • Sundown (Bruce Campbell)
  • Freddy Got Fingered (Tom Green)
  • Rubber

Get comfy as we bring you back to the softer side of Sears after a heavy previous episode.  We're bathing ourselves in stupid this week, dunking into the dumbness.  Join us a some talk about frivolity; a good amount of ado about nothing in 3 different shades!

Editorial Note:  Though it was a movie mentioned, it shouldn't go without saying that Micahel Angarano was the kid in Forbidden Kingdom.  We talked about him doing a FABULOUS job in Red State, so it was really young Michael we took issue with..  :)

Episode #191: Flubisode IV - Live Free or Flub Hard

August 15th, 2016

The time for mistakes is upon you!!  Never heard us screw up, you say?  Well then, you have more episodes to seek out on the Podbean.com page!

As the struggle of schedules, guests, and locations continues, it seemed the right moment to hit you with an overdue Flubs episode.  The clips here go all the way back to episode 152, so you've got plenty of Chris & David along with some guest host bits from the last year & change.

Just to keep us honest, there were only 88 clips to be wrangled into this tasty mess-up meal.  Don't spoil your dinner and tell your friends!  But tell them to listen to other episodes before listening to this one...  This isn't the place to nurture a new person's love for us.

For those who adore the fails & extras - here are the 1st 3 flubisodes: 4898151.

- One of the longest 'unknown noise' moments is actually stomach grumbling, just in case anyone imagines something more sinister.

Here's a clip for most of us who don't know/remember who the hell Robert Vaughn is: Magnificent Seven  Vaughn speaks at 1:30.
also - here's an interview & some lawyer commercials:  Vaughn 2

Episode #155: 80’s Teens Rue the Day

February 8th, 2015
Okay, sure... kids saved the day countless times and we talked about that plenty, but what about when teens DIDN'T?

What about those college kids who turned up the Heat on that Top Secret government project that almost opened The Doors to their own Tombstones?

Or when that Young Gun just needed a Few Good Men to Stand By Him to help Flat-line a couple of Firstborns in that Dark City of Santa Carla?  And hoo boy, some Sleepers will Rush in and do anything for love.  Oh, what a night that was...  You will be Blown Away.

We had WAY too much fun this week, so we had to cut the episode in two.  We also kinda went overboard in our appreciation of what will end up being the 3rd film in our next episode.

What's that?  What is it?  Well, you'll just have to tune in two weeks from now & find out.  It is a Gleaming jewel in pile of Non-Very Bad Things during the Legend-ary 80's.  Til then, we're confident you'll savor every nostalgia-soaked minute of this week's offering.

Episode #152: In A Word: Interview

January 11th, 2015
We were tempted to churn this episode out a couple of weeks ago, when a certain hackneyed debacle was the topic of much discussion.  As it turned out, the theater ban lasted less than a week, so it didn't matter (in this country).

We didn't want to spend the entire episode in the Pitts, so what would've been an episode comprised of our sluttish commentary on censorship, cyber-terrorism & entertainment ethics morphed into a much more upbeat chapter for our "In A Word" series.

So just sit back, relax and come along as we Weave this good ole' fashioned Cruise in your mind.  Also, we made wild Rice.  There's no clever (& short) link for Anne Rice.. sorry.

Episode #142: Remakes For Ever - Dracula

October 26th, 2014
1931  vs.  1992 *  vs.  2014

It is the ultimate eternal face off!!  Those who thought Dracula was dead were deceiving themselves.  It was just a matter of when.  With many different faces surrounded by black & red capes over the decades, the appeal of the concept crystallized by Bram Stoker will live forever in some form or other.  As the 'other' category of Dracula is punched this year, we felt it was our duty to check out the new blood (insert The Who clip here) to see how it measured up.  Can it cut it??

As the weeks of October blow away, we couldn't go without this comparison.  For those who enjoy the horror, we have 2 more weeks!!  For those who don't, please listen to our earlier episodes in the meanwhile.

*Notes:  the adult film screening we briefly refer to had friends in it; it isn't like we're gonna start a series about it...

The legitimate trailer is up top for 1992, but we did find one comparable to the antics of the 1931 trailer.  See that here.  Also, here are a few moments from the promised Looney Tunes Dracula sketch.

Episode #139: Remakes for Debate: Fright Night

October 5th, 2014
Fright Night
1985 -VS- 2011

All Hallows Eve-tober is upon us and we have Tricks & Treats-a-plenty for the coming weeks.

We kick off week #1 in true Triforce style with a "horrific" chapter for our Remake series.  While neither of us can attest to being dyed-in-the-wool "Horror Flick Fanatics," we nonetheless have a deep-seated appreciation for most things ghastly, gross & ghoulish.

So enough proselytizing...WELCOME TO FRIGHT NIGHT!  TWICE!!!

Music Plug:  We found 2 remixes for Married with Children used in this episode.  The 1st is by J4yThr3e, who has some cool original tracks (a lot like DJ Krush).
The 2nd is by Dope The Mean Child, who does some cool mashups & pop-culture instrumentals.  Check out their pages for some nice beats.  Otherwise, sorry about the other soundtrack earworms we put in there (we aren't sorry).
