It is week #2 in our month-long celebration of Horror in film.  This week we're wrought with found footage and Catholic conundrums.  The topic:  Frightening for the Time.

The accolades (and criticisms) of many of a film are tied to the respective time of their release.  The Wizard of Oz bombed when originally released, yet is consider a technicolor marvel in retrospect.  Stay tuned, because we plan on having a whole episode dedicated to the topic of "Bombed on Release" 

Most horror films are without a doubt a reflection of their era, since so much of what society finds frightening is drawn from contemporary events & surroundings.  Many lesser known films ran your expectations off the road (Sleepaway Camp, anyone?), but these drove a stake into the heart of previous films and now live forever in pop culture.  They are not our favorites, but they cannot be ignored, Dan...
